Cyprus Libraries Consortium (CLC)

The Cyprus Libraries Consortium (CLC) is a collaborative organization established in 2018 to enhance cooperation and improve library services in Cyprus. Its members include public and private Universities in the country, actively participating in joint actions and initiatives.

CLC serves as a framework for collaboration among academic libraries, enabling mutual access to collections, the exchange of information, and the development of shared strategies to enhance services for the academic and research community. Through the consortium, members of participating institutions can utilize the services of other libraries, including material lending, under the terms set by each institution.

Additionally, CLC negotiates and establishes open-access agreements with international publishers, allowing researchers to publish in open-access journals without financial burdens. This initiative aims to promote the free dissemination of scientific knowledge and facilitate the widespread sharing of research findings.

As a dynamic cooperative entity, CLC continuously evolves, adopting new practices that enhance access to information and support education and research in Cyprus.
