Dr Nicholas G. Berketis is a distinguished professional in the marine insurance sector, currently serving as Manager of J.Kouroutis & Co. Ltd. Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers in Piraeus, Greece, where he has been a valuable member since September 1982. He holds a PhD in Actuarial Science from Sir John Cass Business School at The City University, London, complemented by an MSc in Shipping, Trade & Finance from the same institution, and a First Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Athens. His expertise and research interests focus on marine insurance, with particular emphasis on specialized areas including piracy, fishing vessels, and ferry operations. Through his academic background and extensive industry experience, Dr Berketis brings comprehensive knowledge to the maritime insurance sector.

Ο Δρ Νικόλαος Γ. Μπερκέτης κατέχει διδακτορικό τίτλο στην Αναλογιστική Επιστήμη από τη Σχολή Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων Sir John Cass του City University του Λονδίνου, μεταπτυχιακό τίτλο (MSc) στη Ναυτιλία, το Εμπόριο και τα Χρηματοοικονομικά από την ίδια σχολή, καθώς και πτυχίο Οικονομικών με άριστα από το Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Από το Σεπτέμβριο του 1982, κατέχει τη θέση του Διαχειριστή στην εταιρεία Ι. Κουρούτης & Σία Εταιρεία Περιορισμένης Ευθύνης – Μεσίτες Ασφαλίσεων και Αντασφαλίσεων στον Πειραιά. Το ερευνητικό του έργο επικεντρώνεται στη Ναυτική Ασφάλιση, με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στους τομείς της Πειρατείας, των Αλιευτικών Σκαφών και των Επιβατηγών Πλοίων.
